Normally, these fat cells are about the size of a pinhead, measuring 1-2 mm. However, with cellulite, they can swell to ten times their original size, growing as large as a bean.

The swollen fat cells store waste products and metabolic byproducts, and these substances are lymph-dependent, meaning they are transported by the lymphatic system rather than the bloodstream. There’s a catch: lymph fluid doesn’t flow on its own. It only moves when we’re active. To ensure proper lymphatic flow, we also need tight connective tissue because that’s when the “muscle pump” works effectively.
